Day 10

"Covered By the Blood"

Exodus 11:1-7, 12:21-28

In ancient Egypt, names of the household
were etched into the door frames.
They believed it would help keep
them immortal. The Israelites may have
picked up on the false belief.
By covering the door frames
with the blood of the sacrificed lamb,
the names were covered, too.
God was showing that He gave eternal life,
not some practice of etching in stone!

The Egyptians did not make a sacrifice nor
cover their doorframes with blood.
They suffered great loss that night and
demanded that the Israelites leave!
God had proven that He was the absolute Sovereign
over the affairs of mankind and our destiny!

Only the blood of the sacrifice
could protect the Israelites.
The sacrifice had to be made,
and every individual had to remain
inside the house in order to be covered.
Jesus became the sacrificial “lamb”
and every individual must decide to get
“in” Jesus and be covered by His sacrifice.

Have you placed your trust in the blood
sacrifice of Jesus? Nothing but
the blood of Jesus can save you!

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank You for Your sacrifice.
Thank You for forgiveness and eternal life.
Help us to teach every new generation
this essential principle, that you
must be covered by the blood of Jesus
in order to be saved and go to heaven.

P.S. What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh! precious is the flow That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know, Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my pardon, this I see,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
